Brass dial wall clock, ca. 1785.

Mahogany wall clock. Top section with ogee molded cornice, three brass urn-and-spire finials, with the central finial on a shaped plinth, a scrolled skirt, and a glazed door with bezel at the sides, pierces spandrels, and a bell-shaped opening surrounded by narrow pierced fretwork. Bottom section with an ogee molded cornice, chamfered front corners, and cove and ovolo molding at the bottom. Circular brass dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, and rope bezel at the outer edge. Inside the chapter ring there is an engraved seconds dial, and the inscription "Ab Hoc Momento Pendant Æternitus" (On this moment hangs eternity). The dial is signed "Simon Willard." Thirty hour movement.
